Jumping off a mountainside under the canopy of a paraglider has to be an incredible experience. Doing so in Chamonix, France even more so. Questionable IMC descent aside, this 3+ minute “hike and fly” video is stunning.

If you’r flying there on your declared IFR flight you might need to double check your navigation. That would be to close for comfort for me.
Paragliding in IMC? Not for the sane! But the idiotic whoops and hollers indicate that sanity is not one of their attributes. We may expect a mountainside burial one day. Just hope it’s them, and not some unsuspecting pilot cleared for an IMC trip.
I get alot of information which I use to teach my students.

I flew ppg for years before graduating to fixed wing. We would occasionally climb above clouds and be in imc. We had no land mass around us like those guys in the video did. Those guys are truly lucky they didn’t smack the side of the mountain. The video was very entertaining and brought back some great memories. I’m glad we are not reading the flips side of what could have very easily happened. Very irresponsible and not a good example set for their sport
