Wipaire receives OK for Caravan propeller pitch locks

By General Aviation News Staff · November 7, 2014 ·

Wipaire has received FAA approval for propeller pitch locks for the Cessna Caravan series.

The pitch lock system is approved for Caravans with the 3-blade McCauley 3GFR34C703/106GA-0 propeller installed under Supplemental Type Certificates SP033376CH and SA03379CH.

International certifications are expected to follow.

Wipaire Pitch Locks web“Pitch locks provide additional safety by improving the close-quartering control of a floatplane, which is critical when docking,” commented Dale Fehrenbach, Director of Sales and Marketing. “The pitch locks prevent the propeller from going to high pitch automatically upon engine shutdown.”

Pricing for the modification has been established at $10,200 installed.
