Avfuel Corporation has named Ryan Knopf (pictured, left), a charter pilot who flies a Challenger 300, as the recipient of the 2014 AVTRIP Scholarship. Knopf will receive $2,000 to put toward the continuing aviation education of his choice.
Awarded annually, the AVTRIP Scholarship was established in 2000 to inspire current and aspiring aviators to continue to pursue their passion for the industry. Past winners have used scholarship funds to obtain ratings and certifications, enroll in business or management-focused programs, or further safety or mechanical training. Knopf plans to put his award toward the completion of his B.A. in Aviation Administration from Utah Valley University.
Avfuel also awarded $500 in scholarship funds to runner-up Michael Hughes (pictured right), a corporate pilot who will put his award toward an aviation management program.
Avfuel and AVTRIP accept scholarship applications year-round.
