Lightspeed Aviation named CES Innovation Awards honoree

By General Aviation News Staff · December 10, 2014 ·

Lightspeed Aviation has been named a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree for its Zulu PFX ANR aviation headset.

Products are judged by an expert panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the consumer electronics trade media assembled to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories. Zulu PFX won in the In-Vehicle Accessories/Control/Navigation category.

Lightspeed AviationZulu PFX adapts to the user’s ears, environment, and preferences, according to company officials. It also features firmware upgradability, allowing it to evolve with new features.

“We are honored by this very prestigious recognition,” said Allan Schrader, President and CEO of Lightspeed Aviation. “We’ve been delighted with the outstanding reception Zulu PFX has received within the aviation community since we began shipping it in July and now we are truly humbled to be counted among the world’s innovation giants.”

The CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), the producer of the International Consumer Electronics Show and an organization that has been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.

Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and the unique/novel features present.

“Our engineering team did a remarkable job of making sure every aspect of Zulu PFX was intelligently designed to meet the needs of our pilot customers,” said Schrader. “It’s a great example of our deep understanding of our customers, our commitment to innovation, and our ability to execute great ideas.”
