Picture of the day: A rare formation flight

By General Aviation News Staff · December 11, 2014 ·

Jonathan Edwards sent in this photo of the Military Aviation Museum’s de Havilland Mosquito KA114 and Fagen Fighters’ Lockheed P-38 Lightning “Ruff Stuff” in formation at the 2014 National Warplane Museum Air Show in Geneseo, N.Y., taken July 12, 2014.

Many comments I've received on the photo indicate that it was a formation either never or at least very seldom seen before.

Think about the young men who went out and risked their lives to make our lives possible.
My wife taught school for 37 years, and has a bumper sticker that says:

“If you can read this, thank a Teacher.
If you can read this in English, thank a Veteran”

Wow! I just look at the millions of dollars and the thousands of man hours to restore a piece of history

Wow! Just, wow! That photo is amazing! OK, that’s enough of the exclamation points. But that is an absolute gem of a picture. Two of the most awesome classic warbirds in one shot together. Thanks for the share.
