Air Orlando Maintenance now installing Kelly AC systems in C-206s

By General Aviation News Staff · January 27, 2015 ·

Air Orlando Maintenance at Florida’s Orlando Executive Airport (KORL) is now installing Kelly Thermacool air conditioning systems in Cessna’s 206/T206 series aircraft, including float-equipped 206s.

Joe Burdzy, director of maintenance at Air Orlando, says an air conditioned cabin can make all the difference.

“When ground pre-cooling, the system provides a 20° temperature drop in five minutes,” he said. “That’s quite an enhancement, especially when cabin temperatures can easily reach 100 degrees in the summer.”

The system was initially designed for and is currently available for Cessna 172R/S and 182S models. The long-awaited 206 version received FAA/STC certification in late 2014, company officials note.
