ASA has released the latest edition of the Aviation Weather Services Advisory Circular ((AC00-45G).
The update includes Change 2, effective October 2014, as well as full-color illustrations throughout, and details on the interpretation and application of advisories, coded weather reports, forecasts, observed and prognostic weather charts, and radar and satellite imagery.
Produced jointly by the National Weather Service and the FAA, the AC explains the U.S. aviation weather products and services available to pilots.
It also is a weather services manual to use when studying for pilot certification exams, ASA officials note. With additional weather station location tables, symbols and conversion charts, internet links and more, it is a resource for all pilots seeking an understanding of the weather services available for preflight and inflight decision-making, they add.
It is available as a soft-cover book and an eBook. Prices range from $19.95 to $34.95.
