New flight school opens at BUY

By General Aviation News Staff · March 19, 2015 ·

BURLINGTON, N.C. — CFI Chris Whittle, who has logged more than 10,000 hours of flight time, has opened Elon Aviation, a flight school and aircraft rental company at Burlington-Alamance Regional Airport (BUY).

Elon Aviation trains students to obtain their private, commercial, instrument, multi-engine and Certified Flight Instructor certifications.

Additionally, Elon Aviation rents aircraft, including a Cessna C-172SP and a Piper Arrow II; sells a wide range of pilot supplies; and offers brokering services to those seeking to buy or sell aircraft.

Elon AviationHowever, Whittle says his goal for Elon Aviation is to provide much more than just flight training.

“Every day, I meet many people interested in aviation, and we want to build a community of pilots around this interest,” he said.

Among Elon Aviation’s community building endeavors is its sponsorship of the IMC Club-Burlington Chapter, which educates pilots, affords networking opportunities and enables pilots to share their knowledge with other aviation enthusiasts.

This is awesome Chris. I am so proud of all your hard work and accomplishments in the field of aviation. Who knew so long ago your interest as a young boy would have resulted in this. Congratulations.
