AOPA Insurance debuts hangar coverage

By General Aviation News Staff · April 20, 2015 ·

Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Insurance Services has created a hangar insurance program, designed to protect individuals who own or lease hangars in cases of hangar damage, personal injury, theft, fire or wind damage for as little as $42 a month.

The policy covers hangars and associated property with deductibles as low as $1,000.

The program provides premises liability coverage of $1 million to $5 million for each occurrence and medical expense coverage of $1,000 per person. Optional coverages include business property, loss of revenue and more.

AOPA hangar insurance can be tailor-made for hangars that are owned or leased, and can even cover hangars located on the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts, officials note.
