Legacy Flight Training opens second facility

By General Aviation News Staff · April 20, 2015 ·

VERO BEACH, Florida  — Legacy Flight Training’s second training center is now open for business. The new Legacy Flight Training facility, at the Air Commerce Center at the Scottsdale Airport (KSDL), joins Legacy’s facility at the Vero Beach Municipal Airport, in providing PA-46 specific flight training and full-motion simulator training.

Legacy Flight Training began operations at KVRB in 2010, and marks its fifth anniversary this year.

Legacy Flight Training currently operates the only full motion three-axis Piper Meridian, Mirage and Matrix simulators in the world in its training center in Vero Beach, Florida. The simulators can be configured to represent the Garmin G-1000 cockpit or the Avidyne Entegra cockpits, and are upgradable to provide the next generation of avionics available in Piper’s M-Class.

Legacy Flight Training Mirage Sim - LORESLegacy Flight Training expects to take delivery of its third simulator, destined for installation in the Scottsdale training center, by the end of April. The Scottsdale simulator will be configured as a Meridian, and the facility has been designed to accept installation of a Mirage/Matrix simulator in the future, to round out the training coverage provided.

In addition, the new SDL facility has also been designed to accommodate up to four classes running concurrently in dedicated, multi-media classrooms.

Legacy Flight Training’s focus on initial and recurrent training for the Piper PA-46 family of aircraft has allowed it to develop a well-honed training curriculum, which can include either training in the full motion simulator, in the owner’s aircraft, or in both the simulator and the owner’s aircraft. While the coursework is standardized , each
instructor is able to tailor the course pace and subject matter to each customer, company officials said.

Legacy Flight Training is an authorized Piper training provider and is FAASTeam approved and insurance approved.
