When I have attended the Golden West fly in at Yuba City, CA I enjoyed it very much. It’s not intended to compete with Oskosh but it was a delightful fly in. There was opportunity to meet lots of interesting folks, and I enjoyed myself vey much. I was treated well, I found a great deal to interest me and didn’t feel like I was at a circus. A very good experience.

If I am in this part of the country I will certainly attend again.

Slowly, slowly dying out. Used to be a great event but those that run it thought they could do less each year and get away with it. Performers got fed up and stopped coming. Now mostly carnival junk and hardly any aviation seminars or exhibits. Might as well let it croak.
PS: came to help set up for 3 days one year and they didn’t start until 3 days before with 3-4 people, one cripple and one elderly fellow that could hardly walk. The guy that ran it would show up for lunch then split. Didn’t bother going then or ever since. Now he’s involved in the Sacramento Air Show – good luck with that one!
