Picture of the day: Prop trails

Bruce Williams sent in this photo, noting, “The relative humidity was unusually high over the desert near Las Vegas in early January 2015. You can see vapor trails off the propeller of my Extra 300L during the pivot at the top of a hammerhead.”

    Does a prop bend forward as much as pictures make it seem.

      I think that’s the lens, if you look at the tail it looks bent away from you as well, not as pronounced mind you. It would surprise me a bit too if props flexed, because they’re designed in such a way that the outer tip is exerting the same amount of force as the base is, so if everything is experiencing equal force I wouldn’t think it’s flexing but my thinker has been out on theories like this before.
