FreeFlight Systems joins ForeFlight Connect Program

By General Aviation News Staff · May 18, 2015 ·

FreeFlight Systems‘ certified ADS-B In systems have joined the ForeFlight Connect program.

ForeFlight will be working with FreeFlight towards support of the certified RANGR equipment.

Through this collaboration, the companies are conducting extensive ground and flight testing to ensure a seamless customer experience, company officials said.

As part of the collaboration, ForeFlight Mobile becomes the preferred electronic flight bag application for use with the RANGR.

“We are excited to have FreeFlight join the ForeFlight Connect program,” said Tyson Weihs, CEO and co-founder of ForeFlight. “With a connection established between ForeFlight Mobile and a RANGR system, customers can affordably equip their aircraft well in advance of the 2020 mandate and immediately realize the benefits of FIS-B weather and TIS-B traffic.”

ForeFlight Mobile will be compatible with any certified FreeFlight Systems product that has the capability to receive data. This includes the FDL-978-RX, FDL-978-XVR, FDL-978-XVRL, and FTX 250 systems.
