Gary Air Show prepares for takeoff

By General Aviation News Staff · June 17, 2015 ·

GARY, Indiana — The Gary Air Show returns to the city July 11-12 at the city’s Marquette Park.

“To have the air show back in Gary is a huge deal for us,” said Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson. “It will definitely be a tourist attraction but more important, an economic shot in the arm for the city and its businesses.”

Two major acts have confirmed their appearance: The United States Air Force Thunderbirds and the United States Army Golden Knights.

“This is only the beginning,” said Freeman-Wilson. “We expect more talent to sign on in upcoming weeks, and we are in talks with businesses that are interested in being sponsors.”
