STEVENSVILLE, Md. — Chesapeake Sport Pilot flight school has earned the first Van’s RV-12 dealership in the United States. The new dealership agreement allows Chesapeake Sport Pilot to sell new, factory built RV-12 aircraft to customers.
“The RV-12 is the most popular aircraft we have ever put on the flight line at Chesapeake Sport Pilot,” said CSP owner and Chief Flight Instructor Helen Woods. “Our customers love the roomy interior, huge baggage area, superb handling, excellent useful load, and stylish low-wing look. We are really excited to be able to offer this aircraft not only for rental but now for sale to our customers.”

“CSP is a great fit because they can offer the whole range of services for the RV-12 — from flight training and rentals to maintenance and flight reviews,” said Kaitlyn Tepe of Van’s Aircraft.
Chesapeake Sport Pilot is the nation’s largest light sport flight school. It has provided more than 20,000 hours of light sport flight instruction over the past eight years and was recognized in 2014 as one of the top 10 flight schools of any kind in the nation by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
I was privileged to fly the RV-12 shown in the photo and I can say from experience that it was the best and most impressive LSA I have ever flown with tremendous visibility and almost non-existent stall characteristics. The RoC was surprising as was its docile flight and landing characteristics. That said, Congratulations to Chesapeake Sport Pilot for earning this distinction…
The sticker price is $115,000 according to this article:

The article is from 2012 though, so the final price might have changed.
This IS a forward “thinking outside the wingspan” company that PROVES the demand exist for the LSA (benefits/features) and its “selling points” – 20,00+ hours of TRAINING and rental – does anyone (fledging flight schools?) get this? As the old saying goes; “the proof of the pudding IS in the eating”? NEXT CASE!
