TALKEETNA, Alaska — The Alaska Airmen Association has awarded the winning bid for its 2016 raffle plane to Above Alaska Aviation of Talkeetna, Alaska.
“Above Alaska Aviation is proud to partner with the Alaska Airmen Association to build a completely refurbished PA-18 Piper Super Cub,” said Above Alaska Aviation owner Drew Haag.
The raffle plane will be auctioned via raffle at the 2016 Alaska Airmen Association Great Alaskan Aviation Gathering the afternoon of May 1, 2016.
Above Alaska Aviation offers a variety of general aviation services, including maintenance, initial and advanced flight training, and part 135 air taxi services.
“Multiple sponsors have donated generously to the build of this aircraft, including F. Atlee Dodge, Stoddard’s, Poly-Fiber, Whelen, Skytech, Aviall, Aero Parts, and Burl’s Aircraft,” says Haag.
A webpage has been set up to watch the progress of the refurbishment. Updates also will be posted on Facebook.
Raffle tickets are available for purchase by calling 907-733-4808 or the Airmen office at 907-245-1251. Ticket price is $60 each or $275 for five.
