Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has declared September “General Aviation and Community Airport Month.” The proclamation highlights the important role of general aviation in Maryland, where it supports over 6,300 jobs and contributes more than $700 million in business-generated revenue to the economy annually.
Alaska Governor Bill Walker also declared September “Aviation Appreciation Month.” The proclamation highlights the critical role of general aviation in Alaska, which has more of these aircraft per capita than any other state. Approximately 82% of communities are not served by roads, and citizens across the state depend on aircraft as a primary mode of transportation for travel, medical services, and shipments of goods.
