Museum slates Veterans Day program

WINDSOR LOCKS, CONN. — The New England Air Museum will hold its annual Veterans Day event, “A Tribute to our Veterans, Servicemen & Servicewomen, on Sunday, Nov. 8.

Visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to meet and talk one-on-one with veterans of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan.

They will also have the chance to sit in the cockpits of a number of combat aircraft, including the F-100 Super Sabre, the WWII Thunderbolt, the Huey Helicopter and more.

Veterans #1Additionally, there will be representatives of numerous organizations including the Department of Veterans Affairs, New Haven Veteran Center, and many more that offer service and support to active servicemen, servicewomen, their families and veterans.

Veterans #2Museum educators will provide hands-on activities for younger visitors and the museum’s Flight Sim Spot full-flight simulator experience will be available throughout most of the day.

Veterans #3The New England Air Museum, which is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., is adjacent to Bradley International Airport.

Admission is $12.50 for ages 12 and up, $11.50 for seniors 65 and up and $7 for ages 4 to 11. Children under 3 are admitted free.

Veterans and active service personnel will be admitted free all weekend and on Veterans Day.
