MT-Propeller has received an EASA STC for the next generation 3-blade scimitar composite propeller on the Rockwell Commander 114, 114A, 114B, 114TC powered by the Lycoming engines IO-540-T4A5D, IO-540-T4B5D, IO-540-T4B5 and TIO-540-AG1A. The FAA STC is in progress.
Certification flight tests show the new 3-blade propeller installation on the Rockwell Commander 114, 114A, 114B, 114TC reduces ground roll and takeoff distance over a 50-f00t obstacle by 98 feet and increases climb performance slightly, according to company officials.
No engine modification is necessary, company officials note, adding the propeller weighs 17.6 pounds less than the original 3-blade metal propeller.
The 3 blade MT for the Rockwell Commander 112, 112B has also been approved by EASA and is pending approval by the FAA. It weighs 28lbs less than the 3 blade that is currently approved for the airplane.
