Larry Stencel snapped this photo as he took a flight around his summer home to enjoy the last of the fall colors around Wautoma, Wis., before putting the airplane away for the winter. “This picture looks northeast from Wautoma (Y50) toward Porter Lake and Mt. Morris ski area beyond (in the shadows). Oshkosh is just off picture to the right,” he explains.
Great photo. But if the airplane has a heater, we get it ready for winter flight. It’s a wonderful time to fly – great density altitude and beautiful scenery.
I agree, Bob … except I’m a snowbird and spend my winters in Florida. Wisconsin has some superb fall and winter views but I don’t like shoveling snow or freezing 🙂 I DO have neighbors who think I’m out of my mind for doing that, though.
Larry if you live in paradise you should have no restrictions. Snow shoveling is great activity and I am sure you would have some crazy neighbors who would help if it meant staying for more Friday fish frys.
Awesome Picture…. beautiful colors….. safe travels back to Florida….
Just beautiful!
