AERO takes aim at next generation

By General Aviation News Staff · December 15, 2015 ·

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany — The AERO will take off with about 600 exhibitors from April 20-23, 2016.

The focus of Europe’s largest general aviation trade fair will stretch from light aircraft and helicopters to business jets. At the same time, special focus areas like the e- flight expo, Avionics Avenue, the Aero Conferences, the Engine Area and RPAS Expo will return in 2016. The Aviation and Pilots Competence Center will be oriented towards the next generation of potential pilots, organizers noted.0069 AERO 2015

Officials noted that the international aviation exhibition is now up to 80% booked.

“For the upcoming AERO, we specifically want to strengthen our appeal to visitors who have not yet learned to fly,” said Project Leader Roland Bosch. “With the ‘Be a Pilot’ slogan, the new presentation of many 120-kilogram aircraft in the ultralight class, and the offer of inexpensive glider training for people as young as 14, we want to show that it is relatively easy to become a pilot.”
