By General Aviation News Staff · January 6, 2016 ·

Annemarie Bain sent in these photos of a Piper J-3 Cub fly-over, held Jan. 2 in honor of Sgt. Louis Bonacasa, who died in a suicide attack in Afghanistan last month. The Antique Airplane Club of New York organized the fly-over, flying out of  Bayport Aerodrome.

Thank you AACNY for HONORING SGT. BONACASA this way. And thank you Ms Bain for posting this. It is my contention that ALL VETERANS and current militaly service men and women, living and deceased, be given due respect and honor. Semper Fi my Brothers and Sisters in arms.

I don’t understand why we still have Americans on the ground in that God forsaken Islamic (Les Miserables) Taliban hole, Afghanistan. According to accounts I’ve read the Taliban have taken over again or they’re in the process of doing so not unlike what happened when the Russians pulled up stakes and left many years ago. OBL is no longer being hunted there so why hang around presenting our fine American servicemen as targets for Islamic suicide bombers. I thought we had pulled everyone out but obviously not. May Sgt. Bonacasa rest in the peace that passes all understanding.

    God speed, Sgt. Bonacasa.

And to all who have died in the cause of freedom.
