Wipaire’s Gateway to Success Program for A&P students returns

By General Aviation News Staff · January 20, 2016 ·

SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. — Wipaire’s Gateway to Success internship program returns this year for its third year.

The program is designed for students pursuing an airframe and powerplant maintenance certificate, and is comprised of several checkpoints for aspiring maintenance technicians.

Interested students must first apply for a paid summer internship opportunity, where they will work with an experienced Wipaire mechanic to gain real-world experience across all facets of Wipaire’s services offerings. Part 147 airframe and powerplant school experience is required.

Upon satisfactory completion of their internship, if a full-time employment position is open at the time of the intern’s graduation, the intern will have the requisite skills and experience to be a top candidate for the position, company officials noted.

“Our interns have continued to impress me and have proven the value of this internship program,” commented Jason Erickson, director of maintenance. “With the growing need for skilled technicians, we are looking for even more interns this year, and hope to offer internships to up to four students.”

Interested applicants can apply online at Wipaire.com/Careers. A copy of the applicant’s transcript must be attached to the application.
