Flight Outfitters iPad Kneeboard introduced

By General Aviation News Staff · March 2, 2016 ·

Flight Outfitters has introduced two new iPad Kneeboards, the Mini and the Air.Flightoutfitters mini kneedboard
The iPAD Mini and iPAD Air Kneeboards are loaded with pilot-friendly features that provide a sturdy mounting bracket for an iPad Mini or Air, according to company officials. The bracket rotates for both portrait and landscape orientation.

The side of the kneeboard consists of a structured EVA pocket that, when unzipped, creates a rigid platform. The platform is sized for a small 3”x5” note pad (included) or a phone. Lined with soft felt, this platform holds any size iPhone and most Androids.

The design is reversible for use on either leg. A heavy-duty elastic leg strap securely holds the kneeboard in place.

The iPAD Mini Kneeboard (retail price $59.95) and the iPAD Air Kneeboard (retail price $69.96) are available now, and can be found at leading aviation retailers.

    Hi,

I and my co-workers actually protect our iPads with waterproof/shockproof cases (from “Lifeproof”). Will this kneeboard accommodate the additional width of such a set up?

    Thanks!

That is why I put a protective film on the iPad screen itself. Most malls have a kiosked company in the walkways that will do it while you shop and guarantee no scratches/damages, etc.
Can’t speak specifically about the product this article is about but with a separate protective barrier you won’t have to worry about it. Whether it folds over onto the screen or not.
Secondary benefit is that you don’t have to worry about anything falling (pens, flashlights, other peoples crap, etc.) and scratching it from other than kneeboard related materials.

    Just sayin’

Any materials will most likely scratch the screen (IMHO). I have had even soft materials get particles embedded in them that end up scratching.
In my opinion the only protection that is viable is a scratch resistant surface put on by a second party.

Sounds great. Concerned about whatever surface touches the glass on the ipad when it’s folded over. What can you say about the potential for the materials to scratch the ipad screen?
