App opens for invite-only preview

By General Aviation News Staff · April 12, 2016 ·

Airfoil, a new mobile app and community for pilots, has launched its invite-only preview — but pilots can request an invite.

Pilots using Airfoil can connect to one another through the app, participate in discussions and buy and sell aviation-related goods.

airfoil-logomark-c-full-wtextSupercharger Studio, a New York-based custom web and mobile design firm, is developing the app in collaboration with aviation entrepreneurs and pilots.

“The whole world is trending toward simpler communication tools, and we see a tremendous opportunity to help aviation enthusiasts connect with one another more quickly and easily than ever before — via a smart, elegant, pilot-focused mobile app,” says Gil Hildebrand, CEO of Supercharger Studio. “Just like a traditional airfoil, if there’s one core feature we’re offering, it’s less friction.”

Request an invite to Airfoil at AirfoilApp.com. Early Airfoil members will have the opportunity to participate in the app’s development via sneak previews, discussions and more. Airfoil debuts this summer.

“As a pilot, I know first-hand how mobile apps are changing the aviation industry. Airfoil is the missing piece: A mobile app that makes buying and selling available on your phone, no computer needed,” says Jay Taffet, aviation entrepreneur and pilot.
