SUN ‘n FUN celebrates Workshops volunteers

By General Aviation News Staff · April 12, 2016 ·

On closing day of SUN ‘n FUN, fly-in officials honored three gentlemen for their total 85 years of service and contribution to aviation education.

President and CEO John “Lites” Leenhouts, along with Pat Boyce, Ford Heacock, Gene Strickland, and Jim Jerplank, presented a 20 year volunteer pin to Gas Welding Instructor Bijan “BJ” Neshat, a 30 year volunteer pin to Gas Welding Instructor Allen Elsner, and a 35 year volunteer pin to Composites Instructor Richard Smoot.

These volunteer instructors are examples of the many devoted volunteers at the SUN ‘n FUN Hands-on Workshops, officials noted.
