Flightstar expands interior fabrication shop

By General Aviation News Staff · April 13, 2016 ·

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Flightstar Corporation recently opened its doors on an expanded 4,300-square-foot interior fabrication shop.

The shop, attached to its main Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) hangar, was built exclusively to handle the current and future needs for interior fabrication, according to company officials.

The new interior shop includes an array of new specializing tooling, a sanding bay, and a 380-square-foot paint booth. The new paint booth offers the ability of interior and exterior finishing work and the flexibility of working on multiple components simultaneously up to 20 feet in length.

Founded in 1978, Flightstar is an aviation service organization located at the University of Illinois-Willard Airport in Champaign, Illinois (KCMI). With more than 100,000 square feet of office and hangar space, the company offers a wide range of services, including an FBO, airline and general aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul operations (MRO), avionics sales with installation and repair, and executive jet charter with aircraft management services.
