Picture of the day: 96 and still hard at work

By General Aviation News Staff · May 2, 2016 ·

Rob Stapleton sent in this photo of 96-year-old Dick Betz, who still works at Lake Hood, Alaska, lifting floatplanes and those on skis on and off the lake with his 1940 A-frame truck.

Dick is a 2014 Alaska Legend of Aviation and he and his wife Lavelle, 90, were recently inducted into the Alaska Aviation Hall of Fame. Lavelle can still pass her third class medical and flies a PA-18 Super Cub.
