Sheltair acquires TPA FBO

By General Aviation News Staff · May 10, 2016 ·

Sheltair has acquired Tampa International Jet Center at Tampa International Airport (TPA) in Florida.

Tampa International Jet Center has consistently ranked at the top among pilots and aircraft owners when asked for their opinions in national surveys at an airport that has also won top honors serving the aviation community, according to Sheltair officials.

Shelterair officials noted they intend to retain the existing staff at the location, which features:

  • Four hangars totaling 108,000 square feet of hangar space with 19,000 square feet of office space;
  • 14,000 square feet of terminal/FBO space;
  • 12,000 square foot canopy for covered aircraft parking; and
  • More than 10 acres of apron and aircraft parking space

Sheltair officials also announced plans to build a new 32,000-square-foot hangar and executive offices at TPA with a projected investment of $5.5 million. The expansion is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2017.
