Pictures of the day: Talk about high flight!

Suresh Bista sent in these photos, noting they are two more photos taken during “proving flights” with a Cessna Caravan at Jomsom airstrip in Nepal.

The proving flights are required at high altitude airports by the Civil Aviation rules.Bista1

“This sortie was one of them at Jomsom airstrip in Nepal,” he explains. “As an instructor pilot on the type, I had the privilege of doing the proving flights.”

Bista notes he’s also flown the airplanes over Mt. Everest on photograph and search and rescue missions.
