HILLSBORO, Ore. — Hillsboro Aero Academy has partnered with ACI Jet on a Pilot Pathway Program to provide a path to employment in the charter industry for Hillsboro Aero Academy’s qualified pilots.
ACI Jet is a charter operator founded in 1998 with a fleet of 12 private jet aircraft and two corporate jet centers.
The program includes scholarships to help support pilots looking to transition to employment opportunities in the charter industry, according to company officials.
“The existence of this scholarship program is ground breaking. I trust it will not only help ACI Jet hire the best pilots, but also attract more great people into our industry. I believe scholarships from forward-thinking operators like ACI Jet will be the future of how flight training is funded in the US,” said Jon Hay, Hillsboro Aero Academy’s President and CEO.
There are two separate scholarship opportunities designed to give recipients the opportunity to learn more about the charter industry and also offer an incentive to build the hours needed to transition to this career path. The scholarships offer incentives from $1,000 to $10,000.
Hillsboro Aero Academy, formerly Hillsboro Aviation’s flight school, is one of the largest helicopter and airplane flight training schools in the United States. With a fleet of 78 aircraft, Hillsboro Aero Academy flies more than 70,000 flight hours each year from its three campuses in Oregon.
