More than 2,300 aircraft owners applied for a $500 rebate in the first two weeks of the FAA’s program to encourage early installation of Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast Out (ADS-B Out) systems in their aircraft ahead of the Jan. 1, 2020, deadline, according to a post on the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association website.
However, several elements of the program have been the source of misunderstandings, according to some of the pilots who contacted AOPA’s Pilot Information Center and the FAA. In the new post, AOPA staff clarify the program and what is required of aircraft owners who apply for the rebate. Check it out here.
