Picture of the day: A spectacular evening

By General Aviation News Staff · October 30, 2016 ·

Lincoln Benedict sent in this photo with a short note: “A September Friday provided a rare calm and clear evening around the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Two friends and myself took the Bald Eagle Flying Club’s Cessna 172 into Gorham Airport in Gorham, New Hampshire, after an hour of touring the area. With a STOL kit and 180-hp engine, it is a great airplane for this type of flying. It was a tight approach with terrain on all quadrants, but after a high and low pass we were able to land and glad we did. It was one of the most spectacular evenings I’ve ever had — and this photo captures that exactly.”

It was a delightful evening.
