Unmanned Safety Institute launches Part 107 online ground school

By General Aviation News Staff · November 17, 2016 ·

The Unmanned Safety Institute (USI), a subsidiary of ARGUS International, has launched an FAA Part 107 compliant version of its Small UAS Ground School online course.

The online course prepares aspiring remote pilots to successfully pass the Aeronautical Knowledge Test leading to the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC), according to company officials.

The self-paced, 24-hour course supplies practical and operational knowledge for remote pilots and consists of eight online modules that meet the required knowledge areas: Origins & Evolution of UAS, Robotic Aircraft, Meteorology & Weather Elements, FAA Part 107 Regulations & Compliance, Human Factors in UAS, Crew Resource Management, Making Safe Decisions, and Professionalism.

The course is priced at $79 per module, or bundled at $499.

Upon completion of the course, individuals will receive a Certificate of Training from USI, valid for 24 months, which can be presented to aviation insurance providers in exchange for discounted insurance premiums.
