OpenAirplane opens 100th location

By General Aviation News Staff · December 8, 2016 ·

OpenAirplane recently added 10 new locations, taking its total locations to rent airplanes to a new milestone: 100.

“We’re excited to announce the OpenAirplane network is now 100 operators strong, with no sign of slowing down,” said OpenAirplane’s Rod Rakic. “With over 360 airplanes to choose from, OpenAirplane has never been more useful for pilots.”

The 10 new locations include:

  1. Melbourne, Florida
  2. Northampton, Massachusetts
  3. Chickasha, Oklahoma
  4. Van Nuys, California
  5. Las Vegas, Nevada
  6. Murfreesboro, Tennessee
  7. Worcester, Massachusetts
  8. Traverse City, Michigan
  9. Austin, Texas
  10. Jacksonville, Florida

To rent airplanes at any OpenAirplane location, pilots need to complete a Universal Pilot Checkout.

Although I have yet to rent an airplane through Open Airplane (none near any of the locations I have been for some reason), I am excited to see the program continue to expand!
