The Flying Tigers is a nickname given to the First American Volunteer group, commanded by Claire Chennault, and composed of pilots from the United States Army Air Corps, Navy, and Marine Corps recruited in 1941 under presidential authority. The fighter group consisted of P-40 aircraft with the well-known shark teeth.
