Passive job hunting amid a pandemic

By General Aviation News Staff · March 24, 2020 ·

With the uncertainty created by the coronavirus, many aviation companies are putting hiring on hold.

But this too shall pass, and when it does, hiring will pick up again.

To deal with this uncertainty, JSfirm.com, an online job site dedicated to aviation, has created a new Passive Job Feature, which allows job seekers to leave their resume for a company that may not be hiring now, but will be soon.

“While many aviation companies are adjusting, we all must understand this situation doesn’t negate the fact that there is a serious shortage of aviation professionals world-wide through 2038, according to Boeing,” JSfirm officials noted.

The new Leave Your Resume feature will allow aviation companies to “hit the ground running” once the dust settles from the coronavirus challenges, JSfirm officials note.

“It takes a few months to land a great person anyway,” said Abbey Hutter, executive director for JSfirm.com. “It’s a bad decision to stop recruiting great people, particularly when they are available and especially during this time.”

“For a lot of our companies to date, it’s business as usual,” added Jeff Richards, operations manager for JSfirm.com. “However, we do have a number of clients who are experiencing a hiring freeze.”

“Freezing your hiring is separate from stopping your advertising and brand awareness,” he added. “Now is the best time for companies to be present. Let the aviation industry (and professionals) know you will be hiring soon.”

To gain access to this new feature and see new resumes, call 724-547-6203.
