Picture of the Day: Once is enough

By General Aviation News Staff · May 19, 2020 ·

Richard Gurbin submitted this photo and note: “Coming into Corcovado National Park in Costa Rica. A 20-minute flight in my Cessna 206 over stunningly beautiful country saves a one-day trek on foot. This park runway is 500 feet long x 50 feet wide … ocean on departure to the west and 500 feet of clearing prior to touchdown from the east. Thanks to onshore breezes, great landing technique, and a rutty runway surface, the PIC used only half of the available runway! My wife and I are very happy we did it once, but we are not looking to do it again anytime soon. Takeoff was easy and relaxed by comparison!”

This was taken after landing, just prior to turning to taxi back.
