Rob Stapleton submitted this photo and note: “A 1942 Grumman Super Widgeon G-44 N90727 owned by Burk Meese water taxis for takeoff at Lake Hood Seaplane Base at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport in Anchorage, Alaska. The DC-6 behind it was flown by Northern Air Cargo and sits on the south shore of Lake Hood at Piper’s Restaurant and is owned by the Alaska Aviation Museum.”
