Jet-fueled aviation thriller published

By General Aviation News Staff · August 5, 2020 ·

Kindle pre-orders are now being taken for “The Buffalo Pilot,” the third book in Amazon bestselling author Lawrence A. Colby‘s The Ford Stevens Military series. Paperback and audiobooks will be available Aug. 25, 2020.

In the latest book, military pilot Major Ford Stevens answers his country’s call, stepping up to the most sensitive national security task he has ever taken on: Keeping the Air Base open against Congress’ wishes while hunting down a saboteur who is crashing planes and killing aircrew.

“My flying experiences in Western New York as a military aviator, combined with my Pentagon involvement, provides the background and inspiration required to ‘The Buffalo Pilot.’ It’s this third book in the series that places such a high emphasis on the sacrifices made by our citizen airmen, showing their teamwork and love for each other under the face of danger,” said Colby.

Colby completed both U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training Programs. He has flown six different types of civilian aircraft and 10 different types of military aircraft from two different services.

Known by his call sign “Cheese,” he is qualified in jets, propeller aircraft, and helicopters, and has completed multiple world-wide deployments. Cheese is also an FAA commercial pilot.

Cheese has had the opportunity to work with an assortment of organizations, from the Department of Homeland Security, to U.S. Naval Special Warfare, to the Los Angeles Police Department. His previous experiences in global flying and at the Pentagon includes time in the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force Reserve, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, and Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Other novels in the series includes “The Devil Dragon Pilot” and “The Black Scorpion Pilot.”

This is awesome. I love reading aviation themed books but there aren’t that many new ones out there. I am currently reading “Warbird” so once I finish, this one is next.
