The 2020 DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase, originally set for Nov. 12-14, is being rescheduled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Unlike other shows, however, officials with the showcase say they aren’t going to wait until next November for the next show. Instead, they’ll put on the show “as soon as circumstances allow — hopefully in late January 2021, a date already suggested by several fans of the showcase.”

“Preparations have been running along so well, exhibitor participation was setting a record pace, and we had such high hopes for November. But over the last few weeks, the COVID-19 situation in Florida has been so terribly negative and we really must think first of the health and well-being of our visitors, exhibitors, volunteers, other guests and the staff of DSAS and City of DeLand, itself,” said Jana Filip, DeLand Municipal Airport’s Sport Aviation Administrator.
She noted that city and county officials “have been watching the situation with great scrutiny, resulting in the decision by the City of DeLand to cancel all local events through the end of November, as a result of health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
A new date has not been set for the showcase.
“We’re studying everything very carefully, and will have more to say shortly,” Filip said. “We’re going to study our options carefully until a healthy solution presents itself.”
Planned to attend this weekend. Sorry for cancellation. Please forward new date when available.
This is a jewel of a show. Enough exhibitors to make it very worthwhile, small enough to be walkable, and it has a very personal touch and friendly atmosphere. The vendors have time to talk to you and you won’t be sore and sunburnt because you can “do” this show in an afternoon. Convenient parking, too.
