MT-Propeller has received an FAA STC for its 5-blade Quiet Fan Jet composite propeller on the Quest Aircraft’s Kodiak 100 series powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6A-34 propeller turbine.

The prop has already been certified by EASA and Transport Canada.
According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the new prop features:
- Takeoff improvement by 20%
- No propeller speed restrictions on ground while operating in low idle
- Lower ITTs during start-up for less engine wear
- Cabin noise [up to 5 dB(A)] and vibration reduction
- Maximum RPM reduction to 2000 RPM with increased torque for 750 shp
Due to the smaller diameter, the MT-Propeller also has more ground clearance for less blade tip erosion and FODs, company officials noted.
MT-Propeller holds more than 220 STCs worldwide and is the OEM supplier for more than 90% of the European aircraft industry, as well as 30% of the US aircraft Industry, according to company officials.
More than 25,000 propeller systems with more than 80,000 blades are in service, which have accrued more than 150 million fleet hours.
