Jan. 28-30 new dates for DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase

By General Aviation News Staff · September 2, 2020 ·

The new dates for the DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase — which was originally set for Nov. 12-14, 2020 — are Jan. 28-30, 2021.

The November show had to be cancelled because of ongoing concern with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We wanted, upon receiving word of the postponement of the November show, to look at late January for a new show date,” said Jana Filip, the showcase boss. “But had to be sure that we were reasonably free of conflicts, would still field the necessary resources, and have a weather prognosis to support the event. And we do. We are now happy to confirm Jan. 28-30 as the new event date for the 2021 DeLand Sport Aviation Showcase.”

Preparation for the event has never slowed, despite concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, she noted.

“The event staff has consulted with health officials and is planning for a number of programs and assets for DSAS21 that will endeavor to keep everyone as healthy as possible,” she added.

The next showcase will “build on the extensive work done in all four successful prior events,” she continued. “A careful look at the 2019 ticket sales, gate receipts, exhibitor numbers, and other data proved that DSAS19 reported $2 million in sales and services on the Showcase Field, with an economic impact to the community of over $1.5 million.”

“Planning for the new January dates is well underway to make sure that those planning to be a part of DSAS21 are properly supported and prepared for the start of what we expect to be an outstanding sport aviation year and season,” she said.
