Universal Avionics launches UA Academy

By General Aviation News Staff · September 16, 2020 ·

Universal Avionics (UA) has expanded its training offerings with the launch of UA Academy, an online learning center designed to deliver on-demand courses to UA customers and authorized dealers.

UA Academy students gain instant access to courses for UA products with the ability to choose specific topics of interest, according to company officials. Courses are designed for pilots, technicians, installers, and others flying and managing aircraft with UA equipment.

“As a company who provides groundbreaking and innovative solutions, we recognize the importance of providing state-of-the-art training,” said Dror Yahav, UA CEO. “Now, more than ever, with COVID-19, we are seeing an increased need for online learning. As a company, we’ve worked diligently to develop additional technology-based training devices to further support self and remote training, which will complement UA Academy.”

UA’s online courses apply tested adult learning theory and are built on a training platform designed intentionally for customer training, according to company officials.

Interactive practices are mixed with short, instructional videos. Students also have the option to accelerate their learning by pairing the online course with desktop training software and devices, as well as scenario-based instructor-led classroom training.

Courses available at launch include SBAS-Flight Management System (FMS) Operations, Vertical Navigation VNAV Made Easy, InSight Display System Operations for Fixed Wing, FMS End User Maintenance, FMS Return to Service, and Data Link Fundamentals.
