New propeller certified for Dakota

By General Aviation News Staff · September 21, 2020 ·

MT-Propeller has received an FAA STC for the next generation composite 3-blade propeller on the Piper PA-28-236 Dakota with a Lycoming IO-540-J3A5D engine.

This installation is already certified by EASA.

According to MT-Propeller Vice President Martin Albrecht, the installation features:

  • Enhanced climb performance by approximately 5% (MTOW, SL, ISA conditions)
  • Enhanced cruise performance by 2 to 3 kts (MTOW, ISA conditions)
  • Unlimited blade life

The MT-Propeller natural composite blades provide significant inside and outside noise reduction, according to company officials. They have no life limitation and are repairable in case of FOD, officials add.
