Joshua Simmons submitted this photo and note: “Here’s my 1961 Piper Colt (PA-22-108 with a 135) in the ramp at Jack McNamara Field Airport (KCEC) in Crescent City, California, in August 2020. Summer weather is usually very windy or very foggy, and sometimes both. Days like this make the challenging weather worth it. The Colt, called Squirt by my kids (and la otra mujer by my wife) has been in our family for 25 years. I convinced my dad to buy her after I took him up as my first passenger. We bought her from my CFI, and he used her to tow banners and the kit is still installed. I did all but the landings for my commercial ride a year later in her. Because of the recent changes to CFI rides, I was able to fly her for my CFI two years ago. If you look close on the dash, you’ll see a flying pig. My father was a chief of police, and I’ve been in law enforcement for 19 years now. We lost dad last year, but I’m continuing his dream of slowly upgrading our Colt. Just need more money.”
