The fifth edition of The Pilot’s Manual Volume 2: Ground School has been released by Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA).
The latest edition walks students through everything they need to know to pass both the Private and Commercial FAA Knowledge Exams, as well as prepare for the oral portion of the check ride, according to ASA officials.

All knowledge requirements are covered, including aerodynamics, the airplane, performance factors, aeronautical decision making (ADM), risk management, human factors, weather, regulations, charts and airspace, airport operations, navigation, and flight planning, officials add.
The latest edition includes new sections covering BasicMed and 14 CFR Part 107 for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), with specifics on regulations and operational limitations within the National Airspace System.
New information on ADS-B and FIS-B technology and regulatory requirements also has been added, as well as weather products, including low-level significant weather prognostic charts, surface prognostic charts, area forecasts, AIRMETs, and Graphical Forecast for Aviation. Information on Flight Service and obtaining an FAA weather briefing also has been updated.
