Will DeCanio sent in this photo with a note: “My granddaughter displaying her log book sign off for OK to solo dated April 26, 2020. Now all she has to is wait until Oct. 10. 2021, when she’ll be old enough to solo!”

Is money a factor? The solo endorsemt is only valid 90 days.
Getting glider instruction is a good idea but a student pilot must get lots of dual before solo.
Best option is probably cross country dual and instrument training.
Proud Grandfather did not want to distract with regulatory weeds. Even without subparagraph (n), staying sharp until the official day arrives would be good practice. Congratulations to the young lady, happy birthday in advance, and safe flights always.
Good for her…but not a good plan. She should not hop into a plane for a solo flight without brushing up when the time comes. That will mean extra hours but there is no downside to that…

That’s a long time to wait when you’re 15 years old. Sounds like she’s on a roll, so perhaps she can visit the closest glider port and take lessons. You can solo in a glider at 14 years old.
That is great Will. Out of curiosity, does the sign off to solo stay valid that long? Presumably, her instructor will make sure prior to that event that she is ready?
