The second annual Leesburg International Airport (KLEE) Splash-In will be held Jan. 24, 2021, on the seaplane apron of the Florida airport from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
RSVP to [email protected]. All who RSVP will get one free food ticket courtesy of float manufacturer Wipaire, which will be at the Splash-In with a Boss 182.
“Bring your own chairs, games, toys, etc. Let’s have some fun!” organizers add.
Controllers in the KLEE tower are asking seaplane pilots to approach the area from the east and stay east of the airport until on the water. “Don’t overfly the runways or airport,” they add. “This will help keep landing traffic on the one runway that is usable.”
There are three places to park: The seaplane apron, seaplane dock, or the FBO (for landplanes only). Bring your own lines, anchors, tiedowns, chocks, etc., organizers note.
