Researchers at Penn State College of Engineering’s Breazeale Nuclear Reactor are using neutron radiography and neutron activation analysis to examine the makeup of a metal patch that may have belonged to Amelia Earhart’s lost airplane. The metal patch was found in 1991 by Ric Gillespie about 300 miles from Earhart’s intended destination, Howland Island.
